Fotini Kypraios

Fotini’s passion about the enhancement and preservation of the Greek identity and culture for future generations is what attracted her to initially join and contribute to HACCI. Fotini’s entrepreneurial spirit and desire to give back to the community is evident in her enthusiasm and passion for HACCI and her drive to ensure the HACCI legacy is passed on to the next generation of business and thought leaders in our community.

Fotini is a Principal Lawyer at Prisma Legal, a boutique commercial legal practice, specialising in corporate legal and governance advisory services and has 20 years’ experience in a range of legal areas, including litigation, management, international tax consulting, governance and commercial legal issues.  Fotini’s broad local and international experience has enabled her to develop expertise in commercial and corporate issues in a diverse range of contexts. In addition to her Arts and Law degrees, Fotini is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (UK) and a Fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia.

Fotini is a Specialist Accredited Family Business Advisor with Family Business Australia and is very active in youth support programs not only with HACCI but also in her firms’ collaboration with the Monash University Innovation Law Clinic where Fotini supports the next generation of legal minds and business innovators and leaders.

Fotini became Chair of the HACCI Board in July 2019 after serving as HACCI Secretary for 6 years, during which time she oversaw the HACCI Internship Program.

    HACCI Treasurer

    Peter Zervos

    Peter Zervos is a very valued member of the HACCI Board and has been entrusted with the important role of HACCI Treasurer.

    Peter’s addition to the HACCI team has won him the immediate respect of the Board and his meticulous approach brings a level of professionalism to the organisation that will be needed as HACCI expands its presence.

    As a Partner of Moore Stephens, Peter specialises in business and taxation advice, financial reporting and analysis. He also has extensive experience in transactions relating to sale and managing acquisitions of medium and large enterprises.

    Peter’s commitment to doing things the right way and his desire to contribute to an organisation that has the ability to showcase what a professionally run Hellenic organisation can achieve is one of his motivations for becoming involved with HACCI.

        HACCI Secretary

        John Kallitsas

        John was born in Melbourne to Greek migrant parents. In 1973 he returned to Greece with his parents to fulfill their dreams and spent his adolescent years in Athens where he completed his high school years.

        Upon deciding to return to Melbourne in 1984, he graduated with an Honour Degree in Arts majoring in Classical Studies from the University of Melbourne, after which he pursued a career in business and marketing.

        Between 1988 and 1999, John worked in the corporate sector building his career with solid foundations and expertise in vehicle fleet management, salary packaging and leasing with global companies such as Caltex, ABN AMRO (Lease Plan) and the BMW Group. This expertise was integral in his venture to form his own ‘The DPoA Group’.

        During this period, he furthered his education by obtaining a Master Degree in International Business from The University of Melbourne, and also completed the Asialink ‘Sir Edward Weary Dunlop Asia Leadership Program’.

        John’s generous entrepreneurial spirit and drive is infectious. The year 2019 marked 20 years leading his own business and being recognised with a Westpac’s 200 Businesses of Tomorrow Award.

          HACCI Director of Trade

          Arthur Baoustanos

          Arthur has over 30 years of professional, technical and managerial experience, managing complex projects and programs in various industries ranging from manufacturing to services, through senior management positions in global engineering and information technology companies in Australia and Europe.

          He first joined the Hellenic Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HACCI) in Victoria in March 2012 as a member of the Trade Committee. In December 2013, he was nominated and elected to join the HACCI Board. He also Chairs the HACCI Trade Committee.

          Arthur has held a number of senior roles within the INTRALOT Group since May 2005 and is currently a Non-Executive Director with INTRALOT Australia Pty Ltd. (and its subsidiary entities), a wholly owned subsidiary of INTRALOT S.A. (with Head Office in Athens, Greece and listed in the ASE).

          He is currently the Managing Director of aib Consulting Services Pty Ltd. providing advice to senior executives in a data-driven planning and execution of digital transformation strategies through the effective utilisation of technology.
          He is also the Chairman of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) Victorian Network and sits on the Program Advisory Committee of the School of Computer Science & Information Technology of RMIT University.
          Arthur is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD), a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM), a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) in the UK, and a Fellow and a Chartered Professional Engineer of Engineers Australia.

          He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, UK and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from the University of Sydney.

            HACCI Board Member & Radio Host

            Alex Ninis

            Alex Ninis’  knowledge and experience has assisted the HACCI Board enormously in many areas. He has served as Secretary and previously served as Chief Editor of the HACCI Herald. Alex also co-hosts HACCI’s radio program on Raidio Hellas 3XY (1422AM) which airs every Tuesday at 5pm.

            Alex’s legal background will add a dimension to the HACCI team and a level of order and professionalism that will assist the organisation as it expands its presence.

            As a lawyer with over 30 years experience, Alex worked for seven years as General Counsel and Vice President at services company, Peoplesoft Asia Pacific and Japan. A former Partner of one of Sydney’s pre-eminent firms, Truman Hoyle, Alex ventured out to establish Blue Rock Law shortly after moving to Melbourne in 2008 which was acquired by Macpherson Kelley in 2014 where he is now a Principal. Alex specialises in providing information technology, intellectual property and corporate advice.

            Alex’s desire to contribute to a professionally run organisation that is culturally aligned with his background is one of his motivations for becoming involved with HACCI. His energy and enthusiasm has been a welcomed inclusion to the team.

              Tas Papas

              Tas began his career at 17 years of age in the family business within the food industry learning the art of sales. With key mentors working to develop Tas’s business acumen and leverage his ability to forge relationships based on ethics and trust Tas has always had a passion for understanding and exploring the phycology of sales.

              In the 25 years Tas spent in Food Service he lead numerous high performing sales teams using a consultative sales approach and a distinct focus on staff engagement and positive culture. Over these years Tas did further studies in Sales Management, Marketing and a Bachelor of Business management supporting his General Management position managing business units over 0 million p.a and 400 staff in Transport , Warehousing , Sales and Distribution.

              In 2014 Tas took an opportunity to join his brother Bill in a new business venture. Forum Enviro part of Forum Group focuses on enabling business to access the latest in technology to reduce Environmental impact whilst reducing operating cost for business without the need for Capital outlay.
              As the now Executive General Manager of Forum Enviro Australia Tas manages a national business that now as part of Forum Group was ranked by BRW as number 6 on the Australian Fast Starters list.

                Alex Christou

                Alex Is Managing Director to Arianna Huffington’s Thrive Global in Australia and New Zealand.

                A strategic and entrepreneurial leader with more than 20 years’ experience in marketing and partnerships. Alex has spent time on assignments abroad with some of the world’s leading brands including IBM (Shanghai), General Motors (Dubai), BP (London), Warner Music (London), MTV (New York) and Inditex (A Coruña, Spain).

                As the Director, Corporate Relations and Partnerships at the Melbourne Business School he was primarily focused on strengthening ties between the school and business leaders. He launched the very successful Dean’s Leaders Forum internationally and led the Annual Melbourne Women and Management dinner to encourage more women to study through scholarships. Alex also introduced a Hellenic scholarship to support students from Greece to study an MBA in Australia.

                Previous roles have included a, Marketing, Communications and Events also at Melbourne Business School and Marketing Director at the Mt Eliza Business School with a focus on Executive Education. He has led an award-winning marketing team which was recognised by the Australian Marketing Institute for excellence within higher education.

                An active member of Australian Direct Marketing Association (ADMA) he has often presented on both the direct marketing and e-marketing courses by ADMA. Alex also sits on the American Chamber of Commerce in Australia – Women in Leadership Committee and has also served as a committee member for the International University Consortium for Executive Education (UNICON) – an organisation of leading business schools from around the world with a commitment to management education and development.

                Alex is a graduate of the Masters in Marketing program (Monash University).

                    Vicky Alexiou 

                    Vicky has 15 years of strategy, business development, legal and operations experience in professional services, with a proven record of leadership and driving business outcomes.

                    Vicky began her career as a corporate Lawyer at Ashurst, after completing Law (Hons) and Arts degrees. Vicky has over ten years with KPMG, currently as Head of Markets for KPMG Enterprise, KPMG’s dedicated mid-market Division. Vicky leads the Division’s Markets and Sales Enablement function, focused on delivering the growth commercialisation strategy for key sectors and market segments. 

                    Vicky loves team-building and working in cross-functional teams to drive growth and get results. She is an expert in building client relationships through developing and executing strategy; and high-level stakeholder management. 

                    Vicky is a natural collaborator and passionate advocate for workplace diversity. She is a mentor and supporter of women in business. 

                    Vicky is a Graduate of the AICD’s Company Directors Course and a member of the Development Board of Murdoch Childrens Research Institute.

                        Demi Markogiannaki 

                        Dimitra “Demi” Markogiannaki was born and raised in Athens, and her parents originated from Kalavryta, Peloponnese and Chania, Crete. Thirteen years ago, Demi arrived in Australia for her postgraduate studies at the University of Melbourne, and started working in the country. 

                        While studying and with the motivation of those closest to her, Demi created WeTeachMe; home to Australia’s best classes and workshops. 

                        WeTeachMe lists classes and workshops covering a wide range of subjects from creative writing, photography, and baking to software development, sustainable gardening, and music, and has completely automated the entire process of managing classes and workshops. 10 years later, WeTeachMe has 38,000+ classes and workshops in Australia, and New Zealand.

                        Demi sits on the Board of Directors for WeTeachMe and on the Board of Advisors for Greek-based technology company Agroknow. She also leads as Victorian Director for the Private Wealth Network where she oversees strategy and Member development.

                        Demi appeared twice on the Most Successful Business Women Under 40 in Australia list, and appeared on the Australian Financial Review’s Top 100 Women of Influence list.
